Vahid Rastgoo is an Iranian visual artist working across painting, drawing, photography, and conceptual art. His practice explores the evolution of visual language through an ongoing dialogue between observation, imagination, and philosophical inquiry.

His work investigates ideas of freedom, creation, memory, existence, and the known. Through abstrection, symbols, forms, lines, and color, Rastgoo seeks to develop a visual language that can communicate beyond words and conventional boundaries.

His artistic practice is an evolving journey- one in which each work becomes a new step toward discovering an independent visual world.

Artist statement

I see painting as an act of creation.

My practice begins with the visible world, but does not seek to reponduce it. Through lines, forms, circles, color, movement, and abstraction, I transform observations into a space where a new visual reality can emerge.

For me, creation is a movement forward.

I do not return to correct what has already happened. Each mark remains part of the work's history, carrying the trace of a particular moment. In this sense, painting becomes a reflection of life itself: irreversible, changing, and continuously becoming.

Freedom is at the center of my practice.

I understand freedom not as the absence of limitation, but as the possibility of creating whitin limitation- to choose, to change, and to bring into existence someting that did not exist before.

My work explores the tension between Creation and existence, order and chaos, freedom and limitation, memory and the unknown. Abstraction ****allows ****me to move beyond representation and serch for a visual language capable of expressing ideas that words cannot fully contain.

My ongoing journey is the growth of an independent visual language-a language that can move beyond words, cultures, time, and place.

Each work is both an image and an act of creation: one step toward an independent visual world, whitin an andless process of becoming.
